  Eileen Giron, El Salvador

Eileen Giron is a founding member and executive director of ACOGIPRI, an organization of persons with disabilities working on human rights, independent living, training and employment in El Salvador. Eileen’s various posts at Disabled Peoples International include regional development officer for Central America, world council member, and chairperson for the Latin America Women’s committee.

She was also a consultant for the Landmine Survivors Network operations in San Salvador and the national coordinator of the 2003 Elections Monitoring Project. Eileen is currently the secretary of the Board of Directors of the Inter American Institute on Disability, and coordinator of the Municipal Commission of Citizens with Disability working in San Salvador.
