"The tremendous disparity in disability
law from one country to the next is
astounding. The only way to ensure that
every government in the world provides
equal treatment and respect to its citizens
with disabilities is to hold them
accountable to a set of standards
established through a Convention."
- Dr. William Kennedy Smith, Founder and Chairman of the CIR

About the Artwork
Jack Beverland (Mr. B) is a self-taught southern folk artist who finds peace of mind in this special kind of art. In 1987 he was diagnosed with uncinate seizures and spinal bifida. His art, which depicts a simple, carefree life, calms his spirit. The painting featured on this Website is Mr. B's portrayal of the United Nations (UN) Passage of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
